For a long time, since steampunk caught my eye for the first time, I had this idea stuck in my head. I wanted to see Steampunk with traditional Georgian design elements, or traditional Georgian design with steampunk elements. This is my first try. For this character I chose Khevsurian Georgian style. A few words about Khevsurs:
They are a small group of Georgians native to Khevsureti - a region in North-East Georgia. The most fascinating thing about Khevsurs is sheer authenticity of the local culture. Being one of the most isolated regions, it retained its individuality far more and far longer than others. From designs to architecture to traditions to knowledge, Khevsurian flavor of Georgian culture "reeks" of ancient roots spanning thousands and thousands of years back.
Some credits: The pistols are very largely based on a pistol made by Arnold Tetruashvili - http://www.georgians-weapons.com/arnold-tetruashvili.htm.
